Founding Sponsors

Granada Hills Charter High School is the home of the Robot Doctors. The school has supported our team ever since its creation in 2000. The team was created as a coalition of five San Fernando Valley high schools, a year later separating into school-based teams, with Granada Hills Charter’s team registering under the name The Robodox and receiving its official team number 599.

From the start, the school has supported our team both financially and educationally, providing us with numerous opportunities to learn and improve. We have introduced an Engineering class and a Computer-Aided Design / Robotics class into Granada Hills Charter High School curriculum. Moreover, our team collaborates with other STEM Granada teams, ensuring prosperity of STEM field on the campus.

California State University of Northridge is our founding sponsor and was our supporter since the beginning of the team’s existence. They provided essential support when The Robodox was getting started in competitive engineering of the FIRST program. Robot Doctors appreciate their assistance with the team in its early years and are happy to carry on the legacy of CSUN’s involvement.

Gold Sponsors

Southern California Gas Company has been a sponsor and supporter of The Robodox for multiple years, and had a profound impact on the Robot Doctors. The company’s financial assistance not only allowed us to keep the team’s functionality possible, but also helped us obtain valuable equipment such as a full-sized milling machine.

We are very grateful for all the support SoCalGas has been providing us with!

Special Thanks

Pierce College assisted The Robodox during the crisis times of our team’s existence. In early fall 2018, our team changed rooms on our school’s campus. Unfortunately, that move restricted us from teaching FIRST rookies how to use the machines due to the fact that the room was missing 3-phase power connections necessary for the operation of manual machines our team is using. This is when Pierce College instructors took us under their wing, volunteering their time during the winter vacation to teach new members of our team techniques of operation on manual machines. Without their support, the Build Season of 2019 would had been much more difficult, and we are very grateful for the assistance Pierce College had provided to our team.
